In April 2025, students from classes M4-4 and M4-6 embarked on a meaningful and fun-filled field trip that combined real-world learning with valuable life skills.
The journey itself was a great learning opportunity. The students travelled by train and public bus, where they practiced appropriate behaviors, such as tapping their EZ-Link cards at the gantry, pressing the bell before their stop, and waiting patiently at the bus stop. Along the way, they also practiced road safety, including crossing at traffic lights and using zebra crossings responsibly.
Our first stop was Jollibee at Paya Lebar Quarters, where students had the chance to order their own meals using a mobile kiosk, pay with cash at the counter, and enjoy their food in a public dining area. They also practiced returning trays and interacting with the Jollibee staff—valuable skills that support independence and confidence in community settings.
After lunch, we stopped at the Parkside playground, giving students the chance to burn off some energy while learning how to take turns, share space, and play kindly with others.
The day ended back at school, where we wrapped up with a reflection activity. Students thoughtfully recalled the day’s events and who they shared the experience with. It was an opportunity for them to process their learning and celebrate their achievements.
This field trip was not only a fun outing but also an enriching experience that supported the development of independence, communication, and social interaction in real-world contexts.
