2024 M2 Field Trip To Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT)

On 4th November, our M2 students embarked on an exciting trip to the Singapore Repertory Theatre to attend a "relaxed performance" of “The Princess and the Pea”. A relaxed performance is specially designed to create a more accommodating theatre experience, particularly benefiting those on the autism spectrum, individuals living with dementia, and patrons with various learning and communication needs.

Here are some snapshots of our students on their way to the theatre.

The students enjoyed their snacks before the show begins.

Take a look at some scenes from the performance.

This relaxed performance was perfectly suited for our students, offering a soothing and inviting atmosphere with gentle lighting and soft music. The theatre also provided us with essential resources to brief our students beforehand, including visual cues to help prepare our students for the event, such as the show's duration and what to expect before and after the performance. Additionally, they offered a chill-out area for any student needing a moment to regroup during the show.

Overall, both our staff and students thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The thoughtful accommodations and engaging presentation made for a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
