“Good morning Ms Hirah, she is very happy. She said she played with water.”
“She is so happy. When I asked, ‘Did you play with water at school?’ she said yes.”
~ Parents
Students from M2-1, M2-2 and M2-10 went home beaming with joy after an eventful day in school, carrying with them happy memories that lingered into the next school day.
On 30 January 2026, the M2 students enjoyed their first in-school field trip of the year. It was a wonderful start, filled with engaging activities such as Art Jam and water play. For the first time, the three classes came together for a combined activity, sharing classrooms and experiences that added to the excitement of the day.
Art Jam
Art Jam was thoughtfully structured into three segments: hand painting, water gun art, and finger painting. These activities allowed students to explore different ways of mark-making, with each artwork reflecting their creativity and individuality.

Lesson objectives were intentionally embedded throughout the session. Students were encouraged to wait patiently for their turn, raise their hands when they needed help, and practise positive social behaviours in a shared space.

The three approaches to the medium – direct painting, cling wrap painting, and water gun painting – were designed to cater to the diverse sensory needs of the students while offering a variety of textures and artistic outcomes. Students remained highly engaged and fully immersed throughout the session.

Water Play

After eagerly anticipating it throughout the afternoon, the students finally enjoyed water play after recess. They had demonstrated positive behaviour by listening attentively, waiting patiently for their turn, and following class rules. As a reward, they were given free play time, which also provided opportunities to interact and play with friends from other classes. The wide smiles on their faces clearly showed that water play was the highlight of the day.
Class Reflection booklet time

As part of the reflection, students also took part in an emotion check-in, expressing how they felt about the day. Most shared that they felt happy, while some expressed feeling both happy and tired.
The day ended on a warm note with a visit from friends from another class, where students exchanged greetings and smiles.
Overall, it was a meaningful and joyful experience that fostered positive behaviour, social interaction, and emotional expression. We look forward to the next one!
